About Wessex Organ World Society

We are one of the largest clubs in the country, with around 200 members. Any person wishing to become member, please apply to Lin or Dave Stanley on the telephone number above. Also there is always space available and visitors are more than welcome to come to any of our concerts. Every month we present a concert by a top professional artiste from the organ world.

In the early days of WOW, Eric White was encouraged to start his own club with the support of  Maurice Porter who was a founder member. Maurice Porter was a stalwart for our society and some 5 years ago he passed away. In honour of this gentleman we purchased a perpetual shield to recognise the organists of the year as elected by the members. Winners to date are Tony Stace, Jean Martyn, Ian House and Dirkjan Ranzijn pictured below (for 2008). The 2009 winner was Mark Thompson.

We usually meet on the third Thursday of the month and our concerts start at 7.30 pm (doors open 7.00 pm).

Subscription rate: £30.00 per annum which includes 12 concerts

Visitors admission: £5.00 (by prior arrangement please by phone)
