About Compton Lodge

The organ is housed in a comfortable and well designed Concert Room with seating for up to 50 visitors. Pride of place is given to the gleaming white, gold console which once graced the RITZ CINEMA, BELFAST. The basis of the organ is that of the ODEON CINEMA, WEALDSTONE, MIDDLESEX (a 2-manual, 5-rank organ) and there have been carefully planned additions to bring it up to 14 ranks, together with upright piano and Melotone unit, thus creating one of the larger Comptons installed in the U.K.

The sound is full, smooth and rich without being overbearing, and is a testament to the many hours lovingly spent enlarging and restoring the instrument.
